Bleeding Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are a very common condition and bleeding hemorrhoids
are a secondary condition caused by the hemorrhoids rupturing. This
is the worst stage of hemorrhoids and bleeding hemorrhoid
treatment is essential.
You will know that you have hemorrhoids either from itching in
the anal
area, a protruding lump or localized pain. You will know that
you have bleeding hemorrhoids when you notice bleeding during a
bowel movement either on the toilet paper or in the toilet bowl
itself. You will first need a bleeding hemorrhoid treatment to treat
this secondary condition before going on to treat the hemorrhoids
themselves.
If you are suffering from any kind of rectal bleeding, it is wise
to consult your doctor for a proper diagnosis so that he can do
tests to find the exact cause of the rectal bleeding as it may not
be caused by bleeding hemorrhoids at all. This is especially important
if you are over the age of 40 when there is an increase in the risk
of other serious digestive diseases.
Constipation, pregnancy as well as old age, heredity and obesity
are all common causes
of bleeding hemorrhoids. Serious bleeding hemorrhoids can lead
to anemia and further complications
For most people, bleeding
hemorrhoids are treated and go away and it is recommended that
the treatment is accompanied by a healthy diet that is fiber-rich
together with a change in your lifestyle to help in the treatment
and to ensure that the hemorrhoids do not return in the future.
Bleeding hemorrhoids can be cured using a natural treatment including
homeopathic, herbal or essential oils medicines. When you treat
bleeding hemorrhoids, you should continue the treatment for at least
5 days after the bleeding has stopped and then switch to treating
the hemorrhoids themselves which can take longer.
However, some bleeding hemorrhoids worsen and become thrombosed
hemorrhoids and if this happens, the hemorrhoids develop blood clots
inside them. When hemorrhoids form blood clots, they swell and can
bulge in a mass from the anal canal. They are a purplish color and
covered by a shiny surface called a mucus membrane rather like the
lining of your mouth. They become more inflamed and more tender.
The pain of a blood clot within a hemorrhoid is quite specific.
It is not a short jabbing or sharp pain but rather a constant pain
that can last anywhere from 1 to 4 days without ceasing. The cause
of a bleeding hemorrhoid becoming thrombosed can be due to a bout
of heavy lifting, straining for any reason, severe coughing, or
pregnancy and child birth. Blood clots can also form in the blood
vessels near the anus. You should always seek treatment and in severe
cases, your doctor may recommend removing the blood clots through
surgery, banding or laser removal. Most thrombosed
hemorrhoids are very painful and in rare cases, there is the
risk of developing ulceration or gangrene which would be even more
serious and painful.
It is important to know that whatever type of bleeding hemorrhoids
treatment you use, whether conventional over-the-counter or a natural
product, it is crucial that you change your diet and lifestyle at
the same time and continue even after the hemorrhoids have healed
to prevent a recurrence in the future.
