Hemorrhoids Cure
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in your rectum or anus but fortunately
it is possible to find a hemorrhoids cure to suit your particular
condition. Such a cure for hemorrhoids can be over-the-counter hemorrhoids
medication, natural treatments or surgical procedures. But whatever
type of hemorrhoids cure you choose, it needs to be accompanied
by changing to a healthy diet and lifestyle as otherwise the hemorrhoids
will just recur.
Most hemorrhoids are caused by straining to pass a bowel movement,
which in turn is caused by constipation. Constipation is usually
because of a low bulk diet and other factors. So a change in diet
and in your lifestyle is essential for hemorrhoids
relief.
Over-the-counter hemorrhoids medications include;
• Senokot which is a bowel contraction stimulant and Senokot
S which is a stool softening or lubrication combined with the bowel
contraction stimulant effect.
• Aleve which is an anti inflammatory product for the aching
discomfort of severe hemorrhoid flare ups or
• Anusol HC cream which is for reducing the swelling, burning
and itching sensations of swollen external hemorrhoids.
Until recently, people looking for a hemorrhoids cure have relied
upon brand name over-the-counter ointments etc to relieve their
hemorrhoids. But increased awareness of our health have made us
look more to natural
hemorrhoids treatments or homeopathic remedies which are often
more effective and safer to use than synthetic chemical pharmacological
options.
A natural
hemorrhoid treatment can be used as a safe and gentle treatment
and some are even formulated for use by pregnant and nursing mothers.
However, it is important to be aware that any cure for hemorrhoids
must be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and lifestyle so
as to avoid constipation and the recurrence of hemorrhoids. To this
end, you should:
• Eat a high fiber diet.
• Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.
• Increase your daily physical activity by choosing a form
of exercise that you are happy to do every day for a few minutes
at least.
• Add stool softeners or laxatives to your diet as a temporary
measure until your constipation has disappeared.
• Lose weight if necessary.
• Respond to the urge to have a bowel movement immediately
and stay relaxed to avoid straining.
• Avoid standing or sitting for long periods.
• Practice good personal hygiene by keeping the anal area
clean. Baby wipes work well while aggressive rubbing and scrubbing
using soaps and other skin cleansers should be avoided as the area
is very sensitive and you can make your hemorrhoids worse. Dry the
area gently and thoroughly afterwards.
• Soak the area in a warm bowl of water as often as necessary.
• Apply ice packs, cool cotton compresses or a cotton pad
soaked in witch hazel several times per day to the hemorrhoidal
area.
As a last resort for a hemorrhoids cure, you may have to turn to
one of the many different hemorrhoid surgical procedures:
• Surgical removal of hemorrhoids called a hemorrhoidectomy.
• Laser treatment which is very precise with little or no
bleeding and rapid healing.
• Rubber band ligation which involves wrapping a small rubber
band around the base of the hemorrhoid so that the blood supply
is cut off and the hemorrhoid dries up and falls off.
If you are at all concerned about finding a suitable cure for hemorrhoids,
speak to your doctor for his advice.
